2021 Ellipsis Coaches announced - Ellipsis Ultimate Inc

2021 Ellipsis Coaches announced

Ellipsis Ultimate is excited to announce the women’s and men’s team coaches for the 2021 Australian Nationals season.

Ellipsis Women’s team coach – Steve Wright

We are pleased to appoint Steve Wright as the coach for the Ellipsis Women’s team. Steve is no stranger to the role, having coached Ellipsis Women’s in the 2018 WUCC season. He started playing ultimate as a teenager in 2007. Since then he’s become a true powerhouse, attending 7 world championships as a player or coach, starting with playing World Juniors in 2010. He is also currently the Assistant Coach of the Australian Firetails, which hopefully will be Worlds #8 in July 2021.

Speaking to Steve about this upcoming season, he says

I am determined to help Ellipsis continue the legacy the club has built over the last few years. I want to empower all players to reach new heights of performance, and to keep developing as a team of grit, intelligence, chemistry, and skill. And of course I also want to make sure the season is a fun, positive experience for everyone! This is going to be a unique season that challenges all teams. I am really excited to be joining Ellipsis for this journey, and can’t wait to see how things unfold!

Ellipsis Men’s team coach – Col Fink

We are excited to have Col Fink coaching the men’s team this season. A late bloomer, Col started playing frisbee as a 34-year-old in 2014 (chasing a girl, successfully as it turned out!). In these past 6 years, he has smashed many playing goals, including winning Div 2 nationals twice with Phat Chilly, representing Australia at Beach and Club championships, and most recently being selected for the Numbats for WMUC 2020. As a coach, Col has experience from both his working and frisbee life – he’s an experienced professional business coach and coached Bauhaus Elite in 2019.

This is how Col is thinking about the upcoming season and his role as the coach:

My goal as a coach is to create a space for possibility. I want to help create an environment where the people I work with are stretched physically, hardened mentally, encouraged emotionally, and uplifted spiritually. I hope that every player on the team feels more confident as a leader in all walks of life as a result of their efforts in the season ahead.

Ellipsis is gearing up for a great 2021 season. If you are interested in joining, submit an EOI via this link by 9 December 2020: https://forms.gle/SJsR8KsJgf7aCrs29

Players will be required to attend all domestic tournaments (calendar to be advised) plus 2 team training sessions per week. If this is an issue please outline in the EOI.
